WHAT EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT MOVING

Keep a checklist of all your belongings. If there’s one thing everyone worries about when it comes to moving, it’s losing things. To prevent any of your items from going missing, make up a checklist of your belongings as you pack—or have your professional packers provide you with one. Then, as you unpack, check everything off the list.

Organize your belongings while you’re packing. When packing smaller possessions in crates or boxes, be sure to organize them by category. This way, it will be easier for you to find what you’re looking for when you unpack in your new location. Professional packers can make sure that all of your belongings are organized and easy to find.

Reserve your movers in advance. It’s smart to schedule your movers as soon as possible to ensure that you can get the services you require and keep to your preferred timeline for moving. Summers and weekends tend to be the busiest times for professional movers. The sooner you have your move scheduled, the sooner you can go back to focusing on the other details of your move.

Leave heavy objects to the professionals. Most homes have their share of heavy items, such as mattresses, bookcases, refrigerators, desks, and sofas. Attempting to lift and carry these objects yourself can lead to back strain, pulled muscles, and other injuries. You also risk dropping the objects and damaging your property. Professional movers have the experience and training needed to transport heavy objects in a safe and careful way.
